Pediatric medical equipment is extremely scarce in the northern hospitals of Ghana. When peak rainy season hits every August and September, there’s three children on every mat and mats strewn over every bedframe and surface of the bare floor. Yet the medical supplies are not present to meet this immense need. Only with the aid of Ghana Medical Help in the Upper East Region has any infants or children been able to have their heart rate or blood pressure taken.
